Volcano All Day



This all-day-tour will take you from the spectacular Nanawale Rain forest to the famous Hawaii
Volcanoes National Park, and will include dinner at Halemaumau Crater after sunset with the glowing volcano as your back drop. 

This is by far very best way to see all the wonders that our active volcano, Kilauea has to offer!

This is a driving tour that begins by exploring the back roads of Puna, the eastern corner of the Big Island and home to Lava Trees, hot volcanic ponds, old lava tubes and other hidden treasures of the rainforest. Frequent stops are made through entire tour for photo taking and exploring.

This tour then continues to the Volcanoes National Park. Inside the park your tour guide will show you the Visitor's Center, Jagger Museum, the Thurston Lava Tube (which includes a 10-minute easy hike through the lava tube), active steam vents, sulfur banks and scenic lookouts. Finally your tour vehicle will stop at the Halemaumau Crater lookout where you will enjoy an amazing view inside the crater after sunset. The molten lava just below the crater's surface creates a dramatic glow and a unique ambiance, a perfect setting as you enjoy a picnic style dinner provided by your tour guide. While we have the capacity to easily and comfortably accommodate large groups, we mostly provide one tour guide and vehicle for each group of 8 people. This way our tour guides are able to give more attention to each group and our tours have a more intimate and laid-back atmosphere.

*Drive through Mauna Loa Macadamia orchard & the Visitor's Center/Factory. 
*A guided walk through the Nanawale Rainforest to view the lava trees and fissures hidden in the jungle. 
*A Scenic Drive along the famous coastal Red Road of Kalapana, and a windy country road drive through a large Mango grove.
*An easy hike over an old lava flow from 1984 to a small black sand beach
*Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (Visitor Center, Jagger Museum, Thurston Lava Tube, Steam Vents/Sulfur Banks and scenic look outs.)
*Snacks and beverages throughout tour.
*We provide a universal camera-tripod, umbrellas, chairs and flashlights.
*Tour From Kona includes a scenic drive across Route 200 (Locally known as the Saddle Road) a highway originally hastily built by the US Army in the 1940’s while planning for the defense of the Hawaiian Islands in the wake of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The road was specifically built with many sharp turns so that, in the event of on the invaders.


This tour is approx. 9 hours from Hilo and 11 hours from Kona.
